Field Trips are for sCHOOL groups of 15 students or more.
There is a minimum, non-refundable charge of 15 students for all groups, regardless of group size.fOR MINORS wE rEQUIRE A MINIMUM RATIO OF 10 STUDENTS TO 1 ADULT.
Thank you for your interest in a booking field trip with the Western Science Center! Our aim is to provide an environment where kids are free to discover, explore, and interact with the natural history of the Diamond Valley Lake region.
While making your request, please refer to the Field Trip Calendar and the Self-Guided Field Trip Guidelines for all Teachers, Chaperones, Drivers and School Administrators. Once we receive your request, the Education Specialist will email you the tentative field trip date (if available) and send you an invoice. Your requested date is only tentative until payment is received in full two weeks prior to your visit. Once payment is received, your spot is reserved. Please note that if payment is not received two weeks before your scheduled field trip, your tentative date will be cancelled and the date will be given to another field trip on the waitlist.

Field Trips are for school groups of 15 students or more. There is a minimum, non-refundable charge of 15 students for all groups, regardless of group size. For minors we require a minimum ratio of 10 students to 1 adult.

Cost of Field Trips to the Western Science Center:
Field Trip Student General Admission: $6.00 per student (Field Trips are K-12 only, all students must be ages 5 and up)
Field Trip Staff* General Admission: $0.00 (free)
Field Trip School Approved Chaperone General Admission: $8.00 each
Optional Discovery Lab for Grades K-12: $3.00 per student
Optional Owl Pellet Lab for Grades 2nd – 12th: $6.00 per student
Optional Bison Lab for Grades 9th – 12th: $6.00 per student

*Staff is counted as anyone who is being paid to attend the field trip. This includes teachers, aides, assistants, or administrators.
All non – school approved chaperones and additional guests are charged the general Museum admission fees. Please note that memberships and/or other admission passes/coupons cannot be used for field trips.

Refer to the calendar below when requesting a field trip date. The times listed on the calendar are available time slots. If a date is blank, that means there is no availability. Please note that a field trip date is not confirmed until you pay the full cost of the field trip by the due date stated on your invoice.
*Please allow for an up to two week delay between requesting and processing your field trip request.
You cannot book a field trip from the calendar, it is for reference only. You must click the “request a field trip booking here” link in step 5.
